What does Mike do?

I know some of the friends and family are wondering what it is that I do. As many of you know I work for IMFlash in Lehi. We make memory for mobile devices such as IPODs. Britta and Mom and Dad went on a tour of the fab and the process. I am what is considered a Field Service Engineer. Here are some interesting facts on what I do.

*IS Fields Services Is The First Line Of Defense For Administrative, Manufacturing, And Engineering IT Issues.
*Support 3,200 Total Computers with only 10 team members
*3000+ Unique Software Applications
*24 Hours A Day, 7 Days A Week Support
*Provide Support For 650+ Tools In The Fab
*Responsible For IS Event Management
*Printing Environment
*Supports PDA/Phone Devices
*Client Management
*Software Deployment
*Software/Hardware Inventory
*Performance Monitoring
*Patch Management
*New PC Setup and Moves
*Manufacturing IS Environment Monitoring
*First level of support for all other IS groups


I guess when you list them all I realize how ruff my job really is. Though I love my job and would not want to be doing anything else. I work with great interesting and intelligent people. I have learned a lot and keep learning new things every day. There has been a lot of opportunity here for me. It is extremely amazing to have the most advance fab in the world right here in utah.
